Position: Mayor
Opponent: None
Why did you choose to run for Mayor?
To provide a focus on “doing the right thing” for residents, working together, and providing a positive working environment for staff. Our police officers have endorsed me (Teamsters 763), demonstrating their belief that I will provide leadership to support our residents.
What is your plan to solve the budget crisis?
I have been working with Councilmembers and City staff on an achievable 2024 budget and longer-term plan to continue to deliver the services that support our quality of life here.
How would you handle conflicts of interest?
A conflict of interest occurs “when a person is in a position to derive personal benefit from actions or decisions made in their official capacity.” If apparent, I would publicly acknowledge any that is or appears to be a direct personal conflict and expect recusal from discussions and formal actions.
If you could wave your hand and make one change to the city code, what would it be and why?
Unfortunately, there is a required process to change any city code; I can’t wave a magic wand.
What is the top concern you’ve heard from residents?
Fix the budget for the future. Apply our Codes consistently and fairly.
