Pro and Con Committee Selected

In the Tuesday 7/12 council meeting Council members selected “pro” and “con” community members for the change of government ballot measure. These three individuals from the community on each side are responsible for drafting the statements in the voter pamphlet for and against the change on the November 2022 ballot vote.

On the “pro” committee (for a change of current form of government), Lisa Slivka and Pam Phillips submitted their names. They were the only two individuals submitted to represent the “pro” change committee. Mr. Rohla, the city administrator had asked them if there was a third person that wanted to join the “pro” change committee and no one else came forward.

On the “con” committed (keep current form of government) four individuals submitted their names to the City. Council was confused on how to select three of four people. There was discussion of “flipping a coin” or the first three individuals in alphabetical order. In the end there was a motion for the first three be selected in alphabetical order by last name, which was, Lyn Adams, Bruce Dodds and Spencer Nurse. Collectively the “con” committee has lived in Clyde Hill for 115 years.
