Planning Commission Seeks Resident Input on Tree Code, Lights, and Accessory Structures

The Planning Commission is inviting residents to participate in a public meeting on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 6:00 PM. The meeting will focus on the city’s tree code, lights, and accessory structures code. This is an opportunity for residents to voice their opinions and suggestions regarding these critical local regulations that can impact your view and neighborhood character.

Residents are encouraged to attend the meeting remotely or send their input via email. The Planning Commission will gather all feedback and develop recommendations for the City Council. It remains uncertain whether the City Council will allow for an additional public comment period before taking action on amending these codes.

Unfortunately, Councilmembers Lisa Slivka and Dean Hachamovitch have previously voted to restrict opportunities like these to provide input at the Planning Commission review stage.  Therefore, it is crucial for residents to take advantage of this opportunity to share their thoughts and experiences while the code updates are at the beginning stage.
